<p>Compared to what some people have posted (eg "already on my way to my 2nd Platinum Dragon" and "expanded 10 times already") I'm really not doing well! I don't know how people I doing it. I get about 1, 2 or 3 "found it" every time I try and end up wasting loads of bombs!  </p><p>My strategy is simply tap with gaps of about 2 spaces until I get a near or very close. Near means I'm about 3 spaces away, very close means I could be just 1 space away so I start to hone in... unsually using up my gos before I actually find it!! </p>

<p>I don't know if this will help you or not, but I almost always get 2 Ingots per bomb, which adds up pretty quick if you're constantly evolving your dragons. I've found that the 4 corners are the most common places that the prizes hide, so I always start with the bottom right corner 1st(seems to be the most common corner) & then I go from there. For me, I would say I get my prizes in the corners about 80% of the time, that's how I end up getting 2 per bomb. </p><p>Also, I would space out your taps AT LEAST 3 spaces. If you hit a  "too far", then you are at least 3 spaces from a direct hit: Too Far-1.Near-2.Very Close-3.Hit. The rest is all luck, really. Hope that helps! Cheers & GL to all!! :) </p>

<p>Cont'd--Sorry, I re-read my reply & think I should explain in more detail: when I start in the corners, I only use ONE tap per corner. If I don't at least get a "Near", there's nothing there & I move on to the next corner. Then if corners are empty(very rare, especially for the 1st prize) I do a tap in the center of the top 1/2, then the center of the bottom 1/2, you will ALWAYS have got near a prize by the 6th tap, so you'll at worst get 1 prize per bomb. </p><p>Also, quite often, consecutive prizes are in the corners, so you have to go back near some taps from the previous prize attempts(while going for additional prizes in the same mine) : remember that once you've found a prize, all the previous taps are no longer valid & the next prize could be right beside one of the old spots that used to be empty ;)  Hope my explanation makes sense to you & isn't too convoluted, lol. Think I'm done now :) </p>

My strategy now is to save plenty of bombs for the next double weekend. lol

The maximum number of bombs you can have in storage is 25.

<p>I try the 4 corners but always 3 space from a  side. That way you need max 4 tries to  cover the field (very rarely one will escape if it's completely in the middle). After you're in the neighbourhood of an item you can zoom in. </p><p>To help you calculate where the item is (or at least possible locations) once you have one or  more 'NEAR's use the  Mine raster I've created using many screenshots (Uploaded see above). </p><p>Beware at any given time there is only 1 item in the mine.  So once you've located an item all previous info is useless. ie if you click on a location and there is nothing there then after you've found an item the next item can hide just next to the place  where there was nothing before. </p>

<p>Yea I find that. I get 'too far' or 'near', then find the item then there'll be another item right next to the 'too far' or 'near'! </p><p>My strategy now is when I find an item I explore close to it first. I usually get 3 doing that (as long as I got lucky getting the 1st one!) </p>

<p>Thank y'all for the info!! I've been making my sis who also plays DS do all my mining. She is disappointed when she doesn't get 3 finds. I'm disappointed when I don't get any "very close" 's. often I don't get a find/prize, but sometimes I've not even gotten close enough to get a a "very close". I may now do better w/all your help! BTW, I couldn't find the rasters?! </p>
