Why is the word "help" censored in DS? I had to retype a message 5 times substituting words because I couldn't figure out which one was "inappropriate".
You cannot get past level 10 for your own dragons. The opponents in the Battle Arena are special. Level 10 is the maximum for us.
By "trying", do you mean hundreds of people needing to spend exorbitant amounts of gold to reach the goal? After monitoring the results, TL realized that the goal they set was beyond impossible for the active population without spending even more gold than I'm sure some of the players already did.
Since this was the first event, TL didn't get the timing and amount correct, but this experience can be used to gauge the next event. I don't know if they'll do this coin bump again in the future. They will probably try to adjust the values such that the goal is more feasible with less gold.
Ahhh, TeamLava handled it well this time. I was thinking about the extension being a good encouragement, but bumping up our coins to just a little before the goal is so much better. I rarely praise them but this event was well done.
Since the outside link worked, it was probably Wikia. If you haven't changed anything and it suddenly stopped/started working, it wasn't an issue on your end - and I've changed nothing. Wikia has been spotty the whole day for me, so it may have been an issue with Wikia not playing nicely with your device. It seems okayish now, better than this morning.
Sorry, I can't explain TeamLava logic.
The Spell Shop allows you to craft expired dragons if you have the materials and the recipe is there. Sometimes they leave in the recipe for a while after expiring a dragon. Not sure why they did it for Amethyst, however, since the materials are readily available (unlike things like Samurai and Leviathan, which are controlled by the expired pieces).
I have 6 Diamonds, a Mercury, a Gold, a Crusader, and two Quetzals. It doesn't make a difference against those level 18 and 20 Champion types. I'm not gonna win this round without spending Gold.
It's true that in the past, the tournaments were extremely easy for people who had Diamond types (the first few were a cakewalk). Since they introduced Champion types, though, those high level ones require just luck, pretty much. Thanks to the huge level gap, you have the same chance of beating them with a level 1 triple type (which is super weak against Champions) as you do Diamond and Infinity (the "best" against Champions). Level 18 and 20 Champions are nasty. Level 16 Champions are not much better (15% with Diamond, Infinity, and Passion, 10% with anything else).
Having a ton of rare dragons of different types does indeed help (for the other fights), but it still doesn't guarantee a win. Some lucky people will be done with the tournament on the first few days. Others, like me, will struggle with the annoying Champion types until the end. I haven't been able to win the past four tournaments without Gold.
My guess is that TeamLava got lazy because they keep releasing so many dragons, so they couldn't keep up with a description for each stage.
It would be nice if old parts could be "salvaged" into some sort of token system that you could trade for the current tournament craftable, obviously at a smaller rate than 1:1. That way you have at least some use for parts that you're not going to use to craft a certain dragon, but the lower conversion ratio would prevent the trivialization of collecting parts for a new tournament craftable.
If you have the Dragon Summoning feature, then you cannot breed it and must summon it. However, just because you don't have Dragon Summoning doesn't mean that you can breed it. Android wasn't able to breed the metal summons from the last event.
The problem with adding a platform filter is that TeamLava is inconsistent even within platforms. When they first released Dragon Summoning, some iOS users could breed the dragons (the ones without the feature) and some could not. Also, adding another filter would increase the clutter of an already cluttered interface (I'm not too happy with how many dropdowns we have right now).
A better solution would be to add exception messages to weird dragons and an easy system of adding these exception messages. I've been thinking of a good way to represent that without adding too much clutter while still having decent visibility. I might just do something like putting an asterisk * next to the exception dragon names, and the message below the table says "This dragon is not breedable in some cases. Check the individual dragon page for information on when it can or cannot be bred." Something like that. If only TeamLava didn't make things so complicated.
The other possibility is I can code it to dynamically add marks and lines below the table depending on how many weird exceptions there are. But it might get ugly if there are a ton of them, cause the table will have a ton of lines of text below. The benefit of this is that I can add an easy way to write custom messages depending on the dragon, and it would all be on the same page. The bad part is it'll probably look horrible.
I'm open to better ideas, but those are the two implementations that I'm juggling around right now.
Yes, eventually Spirit Scythes will be removed. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get the Gladiator Dragon at the moment without spending Gold.
Yes, there's always a chance of losing. Your level 9 Titan Dragon only had a 75% chance of beating the level 1 Fire Dragon. You should use the Battle Arena Calculator to see your chances of winning.
Morningstars are no longer available. The current item rewards for battles are Spirit Scythes.

Ohhh. I like both the dragon and the decoration.
We don't like that rule, but unfortunately it is a Wikia-wide policy to obey Federal COPPA laws. The majority of websites with user registrations have a law against children under 13 signing up.
Seriously?!?! That's ridiculous. It's already bad enough that non-iOS doesn't get content that was released ages ago. Now nobody can even ask about it? =/
