Dragon Story Wiki

Anubis Dragon Information[]

Baby Form Juvenile Form
The Anubis Dragon was once thought to be extinct by Dragon caretakers. Dragon historians had found traces of the breed when excavating old dragon habitats, but no one had ever seen an Anubis Dragon in recorded history. That changed when caretakers found an ancient tomb with a perfectly preserved Anubis egg inside... Inside the ancient Anubis tomb, dragon caretakers discovered not only the preserved egg, but also strange symbols and pictures on the wall. Once studied, the caretakers discovered that the writings were breeding instructions for the Anubis dragon. This not only helped bring back the Anubis dragon from near extinction but also proved the existence of dragon caretakers dating back thousands of years!
Adult Form Epic Form
Anubis Dragons have curious markings on their body that many dragon enthusiasts find puzzling. In the third stage of their evolution, all Anubis dragons grow identical birthmarks on their shoulders; they are all the same size, shape, and in the same spot. This birthmark symbol was also found painted many times on the wall of the ancient Anubis tomb. Epic Anubis dragons are very tuned in to the lives and births of other dragons. Epic Anubis Dragons take flight and begin to fly circles around a nest when it has an egg almost ready to hatch. They are so perceptive, this usually occurs within five minutes of the hatching.

Availability[]

The Anubis Dragon is obtainable:

  • By purchase at the market for 2,600 Gold.
  • By breeding two dragons that collectively contribute Diamond and Purple to the type pool. If a parent has the appropriate minor types, missing requirements may also be added to the pool, even if neither parent has the originally required types. Minor types that have been split from other minor types can also contribute their component types to the type pool.
  • DISCLAIMER: When attempting to breed the Anubis Dragon, you may get other offspring instead. Check the Breeding Calculator to view all of the possible results of combining a particular pair of parents.

Parents Behavior[]

The Anubis Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • When a breeding pair contains a total of two types - Diamond and a non-minor type - you can get any breedable pure dragon of that type or any corresponding Diamond hybrid that is currently available.
  • When a breeding pair contains Diamond and at least two other different types, Diamond is then treated as its own type under normal rules and any possible offspring using that pair of parents can emerge. To check the list of possible dragons using a particular pair of parents, use the Breeding Calculator.

Notes[]

  • The Anubis Dragon is the sixth hybrid dragon with the Diamond type.
  • The Anubis Dragon's design is based upon the Wild Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • Anubis is the Greek name for a (presumably) jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife in ancient Egyptian religion.
  • When evolving from Juvenile to Adult, the Anubis Dragon gains an Ankh an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic that represents the concept of eternal life.
