Fairytale Dragon Information[]

Baby Form Juvenile Form

Most dragons have shied away from humanity for many, many years to the point where most humans believe dragons are only legend. Fairytale Dragons are no different... but due to their bulky frame and habitats close to small towns, they'll occasionally be spotted by adventurous, wide-eyed children out in the woods. To the untrained eye, Fairytale Dragons seem quite fantastical indeed. Awestruck children who come across these dragons didn't recognize them as dragons at all, but rather giant, flying caterpillars. Some children follow them around hoping to find their cocoon; none are successful. Yet the dragons make an impression on these children; children see these magical beasts and assume they're from a fairy tale, earning them their name.

Like many dragons, Fairytale Dragons can breathe fire. However, instead of fiery breaths, they like to keep their fire inside their lungs and blow out stylish smoke rings. Humans spying this phenomena occur assume Fairytale Dragons aren't breathing fire but rather believe they are smoking. Little do they know Fairytale Dragons are very health conscious. Don't listen to the old Dragon Mother tales: Epic Fairytale Dragons do not evolve into Butterfly Dragons. They do look like they'd love to cozy up inside a cocoon though. Epic Fairytale Dragons are enormous; their bodies look large and lumpy, barely kept in the air by thin but beautiful wings. The novelty of their body shape and size is enough to make even the most skeptical caretakers begin believing in fairy tales.

Parents Behavior[]

The Fairytale Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • When the Fairytale type is alone in the pool, it will add pure dragons of its component types (Green and Yellow) to the list of possible outcomes, but it will not split into its component types. When Fairytale is included in the pool along with one or more other types, the Fairytale type can split into Green and Yellow. However, if it is split, then Fairytale is no longer in the pool for the duration. Thus, the presence of Fairytale in a pool will either add the Fairytale type if it does not split or the Green and Yellow types if it does split. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when both parents possess the Fairytale type. In this case, Fairytale can contribute both itself and its split colors at the same time.
  • Although the Fairytale type can split into Green and Yellow for breeding purposes, it still only counts as one type. This is important when considering the number of types for type-amount-dependent dragons such as the Diamond Dragon. Breeding a Fairytale Dragon with a Coral Dragon only counts as three types: Fairytale, Blue, and Purple.

Notes[]

  • The Fairytale Dragon's design is based upon the Genie Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • After evolving from Baby from to Juvenile form, the Fairytale Dragon grows butterfly-like wings.
  • The habit of blowing smoke rings that the Adult Fairytale Dragon has may be a reference to the habits of the caterpillar character in the 1951 film Alice in Wonderland.
  • The Butterfly Dragon is mentioned in the Epic Fairytale Dragon's description.
