Don't take out your Coin Pouch in front of Goblin Dragons; they're obsessed with Gold. They like to collect shiny things around your Island, go off on their own, and bury it in secret. If you ever make the mistake of giving them a coin, they'll hound you every time you pass by, digging at your pockets for more. Goblin Dragons don't just love Gold; really it's anything shiny. Jewels, Gems, crafting materials - if it's valuable, Goblin Dragons will snatch it from you the first chance they get.

Once Goblin Dragons reach adulthood, they're more lenient about parting with treasures in their trove. However, you can't have anything for free; you'll need trade them some food, jewels, or other prized possessions. Epic Goblin Dragons are intimidating creatures with hulking forearms and mischievous grins permanently plastered on their faces. Back when Dragons were domesticated by men, gangsters used to take Epic Goblin Dragons along when trying to collect money from their collection rackets. The dragons were great at collecting the money, but not too keen to hand it over to the mobsters.

Availability[]

The Goblin Dragon is obtainable:

  • By purchase at the market for 2,000 Gold.
  • By breeding two dragons that collectively contribute Red and Black to the type pool. If a parent has the appropriate minor types, missing requirements may also be added to the pool, even if neither parent has the originally required types. Minor types that have been split from other minor types can also contribute their component types to the type pool.
  • DISCLAIMER: When attempting to breed the Goblin Dragon, you may get other offspring instead. Check the Breeding Calculator to view all of the possible results of combining a particular pair of parents.

Parents Behavior[]

The Goblin Dragon has special behavior when it is used as a breeding parent. Unlike dragons with only basic types, it will obey the following rules:

  • When the Black type is alone in the pool, it will add pure dragons of its component types (Blue and Purple) to the list of possible outcomes, but it will not split into its component types. When Black is included in the pool along with one or more other types, the Black type can split into Blue and Purple. However, if it is split, then Black is no longer in the pool for the duration. Thus, the presence of Black in a pool will either add the Black type if it does not split or the Blue and Purple types if it does split. There is one exception to this rule, and that is when both parents possess the Black type. In this case, Black can contribute both itself and its split colors at the same time.
  • Although the Black type can split into Blue and Purple for breeding purposes, it still only counts as one type. This is important when considering the number of types for type-amount-dependent dragons such as the Diamond Dragon. Breeding a Forest Dragon with a Goblin Dragon only counts as three types: Green, Black, and Red.

Notes[]

  • The Goblin Dragon's design is based upon the Magic Dragon's, although there are differences between the two.
  • The Goblin Dragon was the first dragon without a Diamond color to reach 2,000 Gold in price.
  • A Goblin is a mythical creature that is small and devious, with grotesque features and pointy ears. Like the Goblin Dragon, it hoards money and shiny objects. Unlike the Goblin Dragon, they are usually depicted as green and skinny.
