What in the Max. Number of Island expansion allowed from Mining?

I have 9 expansions already and 640 expansion parts in storage. I read that max allowed was 10 after that the mine closes. Since I do not want to loose the steady food supply from mining I have not done 10th expansion. I am at level 130.

The original number of Mining expansions was 10. They have since added more and now there are a total of 20 Mining expansions. So expand away but this time stop at 19 (that's what I did). :)

Once you get to 999 parts it stops giving you parts but keeps giving you food and coin rewards!

Whatever you do DO NOT complete the last island part of the bottom mined isle!!!!!!

If you do that side of the mine will close indefinitely and you will no longer be able to get the rewards from mining for land!!!!!!

There is a grand total of 56 Island expansions as of about 1 month ago. You only want to expand to 55. If you expand all 56, the right side mine will close. You will lose all opportunities to collect food and coins at that point from that mine.
